CHAPTER 6

Desires of Your Heart God is Speaking to You, Are You Listening

Psalm 119:30

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Proverbs 28:13

He that covereth his sin shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth and forsaken them shall have Mercy.

1 John 5:15

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Proverbs 1:33

But whosoever listens to me will live in safety, and be at ease, without fear of harm.

Psalm 26:4

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that I will seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to enquire in his temple.

Psalm 19:7–9

The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure enlightening the eyes. The fear (respect) of the Lord is clean, enduring forever: The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

Did you know that God never stops talking? He loves talking more than anybody else in the whole world. He is the creator of all the words and languages in the world. Imagine if you will, there are millions of words used in the world to communicate every day, and God is the architect of them all.

Over seven thousand different languages, over 190 recognize countries in the world, over 721,000 words in the King James Bible alone, and 1,019,729.6 words in the English language. There is a new word created every 98 minutes or 14.7 new words created a day.

About 1.53 billion people in the world speak English as the primary, auxiliary, or business language, according to the Global Language Monitor. Words are our wealth, and give us the ability to create and generate wealth.

Jesus did everything with words.

Luke 4:36

And they were all amazed, and spoke saying among themselves, saying, what a word is this! For with authority and power he commanded the unclean spirits, and they come out.

Regardless where you are in the world today, or what language you speak, if you have a relationship with God and have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, the Lord will speak to you on a regular basis through his Holy Spirit. Find a quiet place so you can hear him.

Romans 5:5

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Many times we cannot hear God when he is speaking to us because of the noise, distractions, and busyness we find ourselves in our day-to-day living. Another reason we do not hear the Lord speak is we block him out because of our sins.

The devil uses guilt to enslave us and separate us from God. We then attach this guilt to validate our self-worth. Unfortunately, guilt does not have an expiration date tied to it.
